You should select this checkbox if:
- Your income came from a salary, wages, tips, bonus, vacation pay, employment commissions, taxable benefits or allowances, or anything else that was reported on a T4 or Relevé 1 (RL-1) slip
- You received tips, gratuities, or other earnings that weren’t reported on T4 or RL-1 slip
- You paid expenses to earn employment income such as the cost of tools, home office expenses, travelling costs, etc.
Note: You must report everything you earned through your employment even if you didn’t receive an information slip. Your employer might not give you a T4 or RL-1 slip for income like tips or gratuities, but it’s your responsibility to keep track of your earnings and report them on your tax return.
