You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on Schedule 9: Donations and gifts, you are claiming a community food program donation tax credit for farmers amount that is more than your allowable donation amount OR you did not enter your income on form T2042: Statement of farming activities:
The amount you entered for the community food program donation tax credit for farmers can’t be more than the total amount of the donations and gifts you added. [error code: 153]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, ensure that you have completed form T2042: Statement of farming activities and/or that the amounts you have entered on Schedule 9: Donations and gifts are correct.
Note: You can locate Schedule 9 on the PREPARE tab under the OTHER icon. Additionally, you can locate form T2042 on the PREPARE tab under the EMPLOYMENT icon, provided you indicated that you were self-employed on the LET'S TALK ABOUT 2016 page.
