You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, when completing the T777: Statement of employment expenses page, the value you entered in the field labelled Enter the kilometres you drove in the taxation year to earn employment income exceeded the value you entered in the field labelled Enter the total kilometres you drove in the taxation year:

On the Statement of employment expenses (T777) form, the kilometres driven in 2016 to earn employment income can’t be higher than the total kilometres driven in 2016. Please correct the number of kilometres entered. [error code: 351]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, make sure the number of kilometres you drove during the tax year to earn employment income does not exceed the total number of kilometres you drove during the tax year, in the Calculation of Allowable Motor Vehicle Expenses section of form T777.
