You will see the following error message on the ERRORS page in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, you completed the T3: Statement of trust income allocations and designations or T5013: Statement of partnership income page, indicating that you had self-employment income in 2016 but you did not select the province or territory where you were self-employed on the LET'S TALK ABOUT 2016 page:
You reported self-employment income in this return and need to choose the province or territory where you earned this income. Check the I worked for myself box and choose the province or territory in the drop-down menu (the income reported could have been shown on a T3 or T5013 slip). [error code: 342]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, on the LET'S TALK ABOUT 2016 page, click the checkbox labelled I worked for myself then choose the province or territory where you were self-employed from the dropdown menu.
