You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you indicated on your return that you are a Canadian citizen but did not confirm if you authorize the CRA to give your information to Elections Canada:
You need to confirm if you authorize the CRA to give your information to Elections Canada because you noted you’re a Canadian citizen. [error code: 299]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, select your response to the question Do you allow the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to give your name, address, date of birth, and citizenship to Elections Canada? on the Your residence page.
