You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, when completing form T777: Statement of employment expenses, you entered an amount for tradesperson’s tools expenses that exceeds the maximum credit amount allowed:  

The maximum amount you can claim for tradesperson's tools expenses is $500. Please correct the amount you entered. [error code: 319]

 How do I fix this?

To correct the error, enter your tradesperson's tools expense amount into the designated field of form T777. The maximum tool expense you can claim for 2016 is $500.
