You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on the Manitoba education property tax credit form, you entered an amount for the Manitoba education property tax credit advance received that was more than $700:
The Manitoba education property tax credit advance received can't be more than ${700}. Please correct the amount entered. [error code: 286]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the correct advance amount received on the Manitoba education property tax credit form under the OTHER icon of the PREPARE tab. The maximum amount that you can receive is $700.
Note: You can find your Manitoba education property tax credit advance amount on your property tax statement.
