You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you have elected to contribute to the Ontario Opportunities Fund but the amount you have entered exceeds your total refund amount:

The amount contributed to the Ontario opportunities fund can’t be more than the amount of the refund (${1}). Please correct the amount you entered. [error code: 300]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, enter the amount that you would like to contribute to the Ontario Opportunities Fund into the tax software. Note that the amount you decide to contribute cannot exceed your 2016 tax refund amount. Your refund amount is displayed in the left-hand navigation panel.
