You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, you are a resident of Manitoba and when completing the T5007: Statement of benefits page, you entered the percentage of social assistance you received in box 14 but did not enter the social assistance payments or provincial or territorial supplements amount in box 11:
Because you entered the percentage of social assistance in box 14, you need to enter the social assistance payments or provincial or territorial supplements in box 11, as shown on the T5007 slip. [error code: 290]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the social assistance payments or provincial or territorial supplements amount you received in box 11 on your T5007 paper slip into the T5007 page of the tax software.
Note: To enter your T5007 slip into the software, go to the QUICK ENTRY tab and click on the QUICK SLIP icon. Type "T5007" in the search field and either click the highlighted selection or press Enter to continue.
