You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you're claiming the Manitoba odour-control tax credit for individuals but you did not report any farming income in 2016:
You can’t claim the Manitoba odour-control tax credit if you don’t have farming income. Please report farming income or delete form T4164 from the return. [error code: 107]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter your farming income on form T2042: Statement of farming activities in H&R Block’s tax software. Form T2042 can be found under the EMPLOYMENT icon of the PREPARE tab. If you didn't have farming income in 2016 and you would like to remove form T4164 from your return, simply de-select the checkbox labelled Manitoba odour-control tax credit for individuals (T4164) under the CREDITS AND REBATES heading of the EMPLOYMENT page.
