You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, you're a resident of Saskatchewan and you entered information from your 2016 Graduate Retention Program Eligibility Certificate into the field labelled Certificate 2 before entering information into the field labelled Certificate 1 on the Saskatchewan graduate retention program (RC360) page:
You need to enter information for Certificate 1 before you enter information for Certificate 2 to claim your graduate tuition tax credit. [error code: 248]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter your information into the field labelled Certificate 1 before proceeding to enter your information into the subsequent fields of form RC360 when claiming your graduate tuition tax credit.
Note: Form RC360 can be found under the STUDENTS icon of the PREPARE tab.
