You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you're claiming both the British Columbia training tax credit for employers and the British Columbia shipbuilding and ship repair industry tax credit for employers:
You can’t claim both the British Columbia training tax credit for employers and the British Columbia shipbuilding and ship repair industry tax credit for employers. Uncheck one of these credits on the EMPLOYMENT page. [error code: 242]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, select only one of these tax credits; not both. To remove one of the forms, delete the information entered in the form. Then, on the Employment and Self-employment page under the EMPLOYMENT icon of the PREPARE tab, uncheck the option for that tax credit.
