You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, when claiming the British Columbia Logging Tax Credit, you entered an amount for logging taxes paid that was more than your net logging income:
The amount of logging taxes paid can’t be more than the net logging income. Please correct the amount you entered. [error code: 239]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the correct amounts for your net logging income and the logging taxes you paid. Your amount for logging taxes paid cannot be more than your net logging income for the year.
Note: You can find the British Columbia Logging Tax Credit page under the EMPLOYMENT icon of the PREPARE tab, provided you selected I worked for myself on the LET'S TALK ABOUT 2016 page.
