You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you're claiming the RénoVert home renovation tax credit and entered an invalid licence number for the contractor who did the renovation work on your work:
The contractor’s licence number entered on the RénoVert home renovation tax credit page doesn’t seem to be valid. It should have a maximum of 10 characters and no hyphens. Please correct your entry. [error code: RQ193]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the correct Licence number of your contractor on the RénoVert home renovation tax credit (TP-1029.RV) form. The contractor’s licence number should be a maximum of 10 characters, with no hyphens.
Note: You can find the RénoVert home renovation tax credit page under the OTHER icon of the PREPARE tab.
