You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on the TP-75.2-V: Employment expenses of salaried tradespeople page, the list of tools you were required to purchase to earn employment income contained more than 70 characters:
The list of tools you were required to purchase to earn employment income is too long. Make sure the list of tools entered is 70 characters or less. [error code: RQ176]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the list of tools you were required to buy to earn employment income in the field labelled Enter the tools you were required to purchase to earn employment income (portable saw, drill, tool bag, etc.) on the TP-75.2-V page. This entry cannot be more than 70 characters, including spaces.
