You'll see the following error message on the ERRORS page in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on the Tell us about your spouse page, you did not enter your spouse or common-law partner’s last name:
You need to enter your spouse’s last name. [error code: RQ159]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter your spouse or common-law partner’s last name into the designated field of the Your spouse's personal information page.
Note: The Your spouse's personal information page can be found on the GET STARTED tab under the ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE icon.
