You'll see the following error message on the Errors page in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on the TP-1029.RV-V: RénoVert tax credit page, you indicated that the year in which your dwelling’s construction was completed was 2016 or later:

The year in which the construction of the dwelling was completed needs to be before 2016. Please correct the date you entered. [error code: RQ156]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, enter the correct year in which the dwelling’s construction was completed in the field labelled Year the construction of the dwelling was completed (example: 2003). The year of construction completion must be before 2016.
