You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, when completing the RL-16: Trust income page, you entered an amount in box I (Taxable amount of eligible dividends and ordinary dividends) but did not enter an amount in box C1 (Actual amount of eligible dividends) OR box C2 (Actual amount of ordinary dividends):
Since you entered an amount for box I (Taxable amount of eligible dividends and ordinary dividends) on the RL-16 page, you need to enter an amount for box C1 (Actual amount of eligible dividends) or box C2 (Actual amount of ordinary dividends), as shown on the RL-16 slip received. [error code: RQ192]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, on the RL-16 page in the tax software, enter an amount in either box C1 (Actual amount of eligible dividends) OR box C2 (Actual amount of ordinary dividends), as shown on your paper RL-16 slip.
Note: To go to the RL-16 page, navigate to the Quick Slip page under the QUICK ENTRY tab. Then, enter "RL-16" in the search field and either click the highlighted selection or press Enter to continue.
