You'll see the following error message on the ERRORS page in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if you completed either a T4 and an RL-1 (having made an entry in box F (Union dues) on the RL-1 page) OR T4 and TP-59, and on the Québec sales tax rebate for employees and partners (VD-358-V) page left the field labelled Employer’s or partnership’s identification and file numbers for the QST empty:
Since you’re claiming the Québec sales tax rebate for employees and partners, you need to enter the employer’s or partnership’s identification and file numbers for the QST on the VD-358-V page. [error code: RQ178]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter your employer’s or partnership’s 16-digit identification and file numbers for the QST into the designated field of the VD-358-V page.
Note: The VD-358-V page can be found on the PREPARE tab under the EMPLOYMENT icon.
