You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, you're self-employed and when completing your RL-15: Partnership Income page, you entered your business income in box 1 or 14 but didn't enter the identification number of the partnership:
Since you entered business income in box 1 or box 14 on the RL-15 page, you need to enter the identification number of the partnership. This number has 16 characters and is shown on the RL-15 slip received. [error code: RQ172]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, enter the identification number of the partnership on the RL-15 page of the tax software. You can find the 16-character identification number on your RL-15 paper slip.
Note: To go to the RL-15 page, click on the QUICK ENTRY tab and navigate to the Quick Slip page. Simply type "RL-15" in the search field then click the highlighted selection or press Enter to continue.
