H&R Block Online Tax Software FAQs

Can I carry forward my information from last year?

Yes, your personal information from your last year’s return can be carried forward to this year in H&R Block’s tax software. To carry forward information, you must have used H&R Block’s Online software, TurboTax, or U-File last year. When you start a new return in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software, you will be able select the program you used last year from which you want to import data.

The extensions of files you can import are:

  • Turbo Tax: .tt15
  • Ufile: .u15
  • H&R Block: .t15

If I used H&R Block’s 2015 online tax software last year, but I can't recover my username and password, what do I do?

If you don’t remember your username and/or password, and you can’t recover the information, you’ll have to create a new account. Unfortunately, this means that you won’t be able to carry forward your information from a previous return.

Click the Create your account button on the Sign In page of the software.
