You’ll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2016 tax software if, on the T5: Statement of investment income page, you entered an amount into box 16 (Foreign tax paid), but you didn’t select the country you paid foreign tax to:

Since you entered an amount for box 16 on the T5 page, you need to choose the country you paid foreign tax to. [error code: 344]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error,  return to the T5 page in the tax software and from the drop-down list next to the question For the foreign tax you entered in box 16, what country did you pay the tax to?, select the country you paid foreign tax to.
