Yes! Due to some security enhancements we've put into place this year, and even if you used H&R Block's download software in 2015, you'll need to create an account to use our desktop application to prepare your 2016 taxes.
Remember: Online and desktop accounts in our H&R Block 2016 software are separate. You need to create an account for each one, if you want to prepare tax returns in each scenario. You will not see the returns you create in our online application in our desktop product.
